Mustang Guidance and Placement –
and what you should know!
Each year, the U.S. government agency Bureau of Land Management (BLM) rounds up wild Mustangs and brings them to holding facilities. This helps control wild horse populations and makes Mustangs available for adoption or purchase.
One key fact: Without thorough preparation, it's simply not possible to bring a Mustang to Europe. Many Mustangs advertised as “untouched” in Germany are, in reality, already poorly imprinted—often the result of unprofessional handling during the critical early phase. If the foundation training is done incorrectly, it harms both the horse and the long-term human-horse relationship.
That’s exactly why Ride the Brand should be your choice!
Adopt or Buy?
Adoption comes with restrictions, such as a mandatory one-year export hold to Europe, which makes it impractical.
Update (March 3, 2025): The $1,000 adoption incentive has been discontinued.
Purchasing through BLM (via "Sale Authority," around $125) allows for immediate export.
