MUSTANGS FOR SALE
The Mustang Reality Check
Careful Selection and Preparation for Europe
Adopting a wild horse from North America is not an ordinary horse purchase—it's a lifelong commitment. Before we begin the journey together, take a moment to honestly ask yourself the following questions:
- Do you truly understand what a Mustang is?
- Have you thoroughly researched wild horses and their needs?
- Do you understand the timeline involved in the process?
- Have you planned for the financial investment required?
- Do you have suitable facilities and management options for a formerly wild horse?
- Are you prepared for both the challenges and the rewards that come with making this dream a reality?
If you have any questions, I'm always happy to help.
“America's wild horses have been shaped for centuries by life in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and the rugged desert landscapes of the West. Tough, intelligent, and remarkably loyal, they are unlike any horse you have ever met. Welcoming one of these horses into your life is a serious commitment—but also one of the most rewarding journeys you may ever undertake.”
Our mission is to help you find an authentic American wild horse. We promise: no purpose-bred horses, no commercial show projects, and no Mustang makeover culture.
A Partnership Built on Informed Decisions
Your journey with us begins long before your horse arrives.
Based on your personal goals, experience, and lifestyle, we identify suitable wild horses directly from holding and training facilities in the United States and Canada and present carefully selected options for your consideration.
Drawing on years of experience, we guide you through a thoughtful selection process to ensure that your chosen horse truly fits your life and ambitions. Mustangs come in every color, size, and age - and fair warning: it's very easy to fall in love.
All of our wild horses have a fully traceable history, undergo comprehensive professional pre-screening, and demonstrate a foundational willingness to build a relationship with humans. Not every wild horse is physically, mentally, or emotionally ready for export or life alongside people. That's why every horse is evaluated and selected together with you - honestly, transparently, and without pressure.
Important Facts About Importing Wild Horses to Europe
Please note that horses marketed as “wild horses” in Europe are no longer truly wild horses.
For legal and safety reasons, a completely untouched wild horse cannot be transported internationally by air. By the time these horses arrive in Europe, they have already become former wild horses, having completed the required foundation handling and preparation in North America to qualify for transport.
Unfortunately, many of these horses are selected primarily for their appearance rather than through a careful and informed matching process.
We take a different approach.
From the very beginning, you are actively involved in the journey. You participate in the selection of your horse and remain closely connected throughout its preparation, transition, and training process. There are no rushed timelines, no competitions, and no commercial hype - just a thoughtful partnership built around the horse's welfare.
In addition, all wild horses sourced through Ride the Brand facilities come with the documentation required for legal export and international transport.
New Horizons: From North America to Portugal
In the past, our wild horses were primarily started and trained through our Wild Workshops in Arizona. Due to the current legal and political climate in the United States, I am no longer hosting training clinics there at this time.
Instead, we have expanded our international vision.
This autumn, I will be working in Canada, and you are warmly invited to join me as I bring my wild horses to their new home at Rancho Terra Bravo in Portugal.
We are proud to introduce our Wild Horsemanship Training Program at Rancho Terra Bravo. This exceptional location allows us to offer a more accessible European training experience while maintaining the same depth, premium quality, and horse-centered philosophy that defines our work.
Our long-term vision is for Rancho Terra Bravo to become an international center for Wild Horsemanship - a place where the best of both worlds come together to redefine the future of the horse-human partnership.
Let's Start the Conversation

If you'd like to explore whether a wild horse is the right partner for you, I'd love to hear from you.
Tell me about your goals and preferences, such as age, gender, riding discipline, intended use, and the qualities you're looking for in a horse. Based on this information, I'll introduce you to suitable horses and explain our selection process in detail.
You'll receive an honest and transparent assessment, completely free from sales pressure.
