Buying an American Mustang is unlike buying any other horse. It marks the beginning of a unique responsibility and partnership. I’ll guide you through the entire process with honesty, independence, and years of experience, always putting the horse’s well-being first.
Independent Mustang Guidance
Ride the Brand began in Arizona in 2019, inspired by my own journey with my Mustang, Landers. From there grew our Wild Horsemanship training in Arizona and my work with wild horses, a path that continues to shape what I do today.
When my journey eventually took me from the U.S. to Europe, of course my Mustang came with me. For several years, I continued to travel and work between both continents. Now, that chapter is coming to an end. Next spring, three more of my Mustangs will make the journey from Canada to join us in Portugal, and from then on, Rancho Terra Bravo will be our home and the heart of my work.
My intention was never to build a traditional horse import business. My heart lies elsewhere: at Rancho Terra Bravo, with my Mustangs, and in the life I share with them.
From my own experience, I know how special the journey to finding the right Mustang can be. But I also know that not every Mustang story unfolds the way we hope. Over the years, I’ve witnessed many wonderful partnerships take shape, but I’ve also seen the challenges that can arise and how much can go wrong when the right horse, the right preparation, and the right support don’t come together.
That experience is what I want to share with you. Not to make decisions for you, but to give you the knowledge, perspective, and honest guidance you need to make your own choices with confidence.
I don’t work on behalf of horse dealers or trainers, and I’m not here simply to find you a Mustang. My focus is on helping you find the horse that is truly right for you.
My guidance is personal, independent, and transparent. For me, this isn’t about simply bringing a Mustang from North America to Europe or filling a plane with horses. It’s about offering you genuine support and perhaps, along the way, you’ll become part of our Wild Horsemanship family here in Europe.
Cost
Based on my previous experience with Mustang purchases and imports, the total cost is typically around $15,000 USD. This is only an estimate and can vary depending on the location and purchase price of the horse, the length of training, transportation costs, and the exchange rate at the time.
Please note that I am not the seller or involved in the sale of the horse. The purchase is made directly between you and the respective owner, facility, or other party selling the Mustang. My role is independent and limited to providing guidance and support where you choose to involve me.
Cost usually include:
- The Mustang
- Training
- Veterinary care
- Quarantine (for horses coming from Canada only)
- Ground transportation and air transport to Europe
Every Mustang is carefully considered together with you, with the final choice always being yours. We believe in calm, trust-based preparation without pressure, shortcuts, or unnecessary stress. Each Mustang is given the time they need to build trust and feel ready before beginning their journey to Europe.

Personal Guidance – €60/hour
You are interested in buying a Mustang and would like to draw on my experience when choosing the right horse? I’m happy to support you as much, or as little, as you need.
After an initial conversation to get to know each other, you can call on my experience throughout the process of choosing and importing your Mustang. Together, we can look at potential horses, review videos and available information, speak with trainers, and discuss what to consider before making your decision.
I can also support you with your Mustang’s preparation, transport planning, import coordination, and logistics through to their arrival in Europe.
My guidance and support are charged at €60 per hour, based only on the time you actually use. Perhaps you’ve already found your Mustang and only need help with the import, or maybe you’d like my input from the very beginning while choosing your horse.
You decide where you’d like my support and how much of it you need. You only pay for the time you actually use.
