For me, an authentic American Mustang is a horse that has truly lived in the wild. It has survived as part of a free-roaming herd and carries the instincts, resilience, and heritage that make the Mustang so extraordinary.
Today, some horses offered as "Mustangs" were born or raised in holding facilities and have never experienced life in the wild. While they are still wonderful horses, they have not shared the same journey as a truly wild-born Mustang. In many cases, buyers pay premium prices based on colour or appearance rather than the horse's unique history and heritage.
