Can I adopt a Mustang and bring it to Europe?

Yes, you can, but the process is more complex than many people expect.

A traditional Mustang adoption through the BLM (Bureau of Land Management) in the United States is subject to specific legal requirements and export restrictions. For example, adopted Mustangs cannot be exported for the first 12 months. Depending on your goals, however, there are alternative pathways that allow for export once all the necessary preparations and documentation have been completed.

Does my Mustang need to be quarantined before being transported to Europe?

No. In the United States, a Mustang does not need to undergo quarantine before export. Before departure, the horse is examined by a veterinarian and must meet all veterinary health requirements for entry into Europe.

The process is different for horses exported through Canada. In this case, a mandatory quarantine is required before the flight. The duration and specific requirements depend on the current veterinary regulations set by the Canadian authorities.
